This is a very simple ringing the changes on your normal banana bread! For those who like bananas and chocolate this cake must be one of the ultimate combinations of those two ingredients.
6 tbsp [90ml] butter
¾ cup [180ml] sugar
¾ cup [180ml] molasses
2½ cup [375ml] mashed overripe bananas
2¾ cup  flour
1tsp [5ml] baking soda
½ tsp [2½ml] salt
1 tsp [5ml] vanilla extract
1 cup [250ml] Chocolate chips.
Making the Banana Chocolate Cake:Preheat oven to 350°F.[180°C]
In a large mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar.
Slowly add the molasses to the creamed butter and sugar mixing until well combined
Add the eggs, mix well and then mix in the bananas. Continue mixing until the mashed banana is fully distributed throughout the mixture
Mix in the flour, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract, mix until smooth.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Spoon the batter into a buttered and floured 9 inch springform mould.
Insert the banana chocolate batter into the preheated oven and bake for about one hour until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Remove the cake from oven and let the cake cool on a rack.
Cut the Banana Chocolate Cake in half to form two layers. and frost with your favourite chocolate icing..
