Best Chocolate Cake with Fudge Frosting (Icing)

Best Chocolate Cake: Ingredients

2 c Flour
2 c Sugar
1/2 c Shortening
3/4 c Water
3/4 c Buttermilk
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Salt
1 ts Vanilla
1/2 ts Baking powder
2 Eggs
4 oz Unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

How to make the Chocolate Cake

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 3 inch pan or 3 8 inch round pans or 2 9 inch round pans
beat all ingredients except Fudge frosting in a large bowl on low speed for 30 seconds scraping the bowl constantly. Beat on high-speed for three minutes scraping the bowl constantly.
Pour batter into pan (S.)
bake for 40-45 minutes (rectangle pan) or 30-35 minutes (round pans) or a little wooden toothpick comes out clean
cool for 10 minutes and then remove from parents. Cool completely then frost

What you'll need for the Chocolate Fudge Frosting ( Icing )

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
2/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla<

Making the Chocolate Fudge Frosting ( Icing )

Mix all the ingredients except the vanilla in a high 2 1/2 quart saucepan.
Heat to a rolling boil stirring occasionally.
Boil for one minute without stirring.
Place saucepan in a bowl of ice and water. Beat until frosting ( Icing ) is smooth and of spreading consistency. Add the vanilla.
Use frosting to ice the chocolate cake
