This recipe shows just how simple it is to make those delicious chocolate covered strawberries, served in a chocolate basket
Chocolate Strawberries Ingredients
One punnet fresh strawberries.
One slab dark chocolate.
To Cover the Strawberries with Chocolate
Wash and drain the strawberries. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Leave the stems intact.
Place half of the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl.
Microwave on high until melted (approximately 2 minutes).
Holding the berries by the stem, dip one at a time into the chocolate.
Gently shake off the excess chocolate and place on waxed paper until firm.
If the chocolate becomes too thick while dipping the strawberries reheat it for a few seconds.
CHOCOLATE BASKET FOR THE STRAWBERRIES
Cover a dish or pie plate of the desired shape with foil and spray lightly with vegetable oil.
Melt the rest of the chocolate in the microwave and place in a zip lock bag and seal. Snip a small hole in the corner of the bag and drizzle the chocolate over the greased foil to create a chocolate basket. Chill until firm. Carefully remove the chocolate basket from the foil. Place on serving tray and fill with the chocolate strawberries.
